Laurie is an award winning artist from Toronto Canada. Since graduating from OCAD she has been painting on canvases with her work on display in homes thought North America and Europe. She won the Canadian entry for her painting entitled "Double Take" at the Spanish Miradas International Art Competition 2016 and again in 2018 for her painting, "As I See it", under the pseudonym Laurie Andrews.
Her paintings have been featured in and on many magazine covers; Canadian Living, Today's Parent Magazine, Canadian Computer Reseller, profiled in Toronto's Rosedale Magazine, Canadian Journal of Rural Medicine, the Read Magazine...
If Laurie isn't painting on canvases, she is painting on canvas paper, illustrating and designing children's books. Her book, SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFUL, Pow!books NY, written by Lisa Lucas, was given a stellar review by the New York Times, a Heather's Pick at Chapters/Indigo for Best Books for kids 2019 and the coveted Kirkus star, selling worldwide. Her latest book, WHEN THE EARTH SHOOK, Tilbury House, March 2020 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, also a Heather's Pick, a Best Book 2020 by Canadian Children's Book Centre, top picture book by Publishers' Spotlight and a finalist for the Green Earth Book Award, winner to be announced on Earth Day.
If not Illustrating,, she is designing characters for tv shows and licensing art with Suzanne Cruise Creative Agency. She spends every summer at the cottage in Muskoka and uses the cottage as her studio to paint. The rest of the year she lives in Toronto.
